Should you Tap It?” “Karen Kostiw, a real estate agent with Warburg Realty in New York City, says that HELOCs do offer plenty of flexibility. But those varying monthly payments can cause problems, she said.
“The fluctuating payments can easily cause financial instability,” she said. “They can make it difficult for borrows to determine monthly payments and future borrowing plans.”
