Summering Out East
Kicking off August, we have a special edition of Culturally Inclined, which focuses on Montauk and Amagansett. It features various events and activities to enjoy starting this weekend and throughout the summer. Head east to traverse the rugged natural coast to dream and recharge before summer concludes. No better place to watch the sunset cascade into the Sound than the Montauket Hotel. Listen carefully and you can hear the spirit of the Montaukett or Montauk people who were an Algonquian-speaking Native American culture who traversed from the eastern end of Long Island, New York before the colonial days. The East End of Long Island is a majestic location with so much to marvel with over 5,000 acres of pristine public beaches and breathtaking diverse parkland enjoy swimming, surfing, fishing, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, biking, bird watching, observing nature, and more!
This week – August 1st, the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.75%, according to the Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey. Mortgage rates have essentially stabilized over the last two months, which reflects the recovery and improvement in the economy from the malaise earlier in the year. Going forward, the combination of low mortgage rates, tight labor market and high consumer confidence should set up the housing market for continued improvement in home sales heading into the late summer and early fall. ” – Freddie Mac
